Most plans run to a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart. Laser Genesis often 4 to 6, LimeLight often 3 to 4.
Little to no downtime
Genesis has none. After LimeLight, pigment may darken and gently flake over a week, with possible warmth or redness for a few hours.

Does it hurt?
Laser Genesis is gentle and warming, often described as soothing, almost meditative. LimeLight feels like a quick, warm flick, similar to a light elastic band. No anaesthetic is needed, and your therapist adjusts everything to your comfort.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your skin and your goal. As a guide, Laser Genesis is often a series of 4 to 6, and LimeLight 3 to 4, spaced a few weeks apart, followed by simple maintenance. We map your series at your consult.
Is there any downtime?
Laser Genesis has none, you can return to your day straight away. After LimeLight, pigment may look a little darker and flake gently over about a week, with possible warmth or mild redness for a few hours.
Which one is right for me?
Redness, texture, fine lines and glow respond best to Laser Genesis. Pigmentation, sun damage and brown spots are LimeLight’s territory. Many people benefit from both. We decide together at your consult, guided by your Observ skin scan.
Is it safe for my skin type?
Laser Genesis is suitable for all skin types. LimeLight is best suited to fair and medium tones, so we always confirm the right fit for you at your consult before we begin.
How should I prepare, and care for my skin after?
Come with clean skin and avoid sun, tanning and fake tan beforehand. Pause strong actives like retinol for a few days before and after, as advised. Afterwards, keep it simple and gentle, and wear SPF daily, we will give you a clear plan.
Is there anyone it is not suitable for?
For your safety, laser and light treatments are not suitable, or need to wait, if any of the following apply. Please tell us at your consult:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are being treated for skin cancer, or have a new, changing or unusual mole or lesion in the area
- You have taken isotretinoin, such as Roaccutane or Accutane, in the past 6 months
- You have an active infection, cold sore or broken skin in the treatment area
- You have had recent sun exposure, a sunbed or fake tan, we wait until skin is no longer tanned
- You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, vitiligo, or a bleeding or clotting disorder
- You take photosensitising medication, blood thinners, gold therapy, or certain antibiotics
- You have metal or electronic implants near the area, a pacemaker or defibrillator, or tattoos or permanent make-up in the area
